課程概述

This is the first course for master students who like to major in occupational health. The principles, case studies and practice of occupational health will be taught in the class. Key medical, physical, chemical and engineering principles will be reviewed to provide students with sound scientific foundation of learning occupational health. Key conventional and new occupational health issues, both of domestically and internationally, will be taught in the class. The course instruction method will be combination of lecture, workshop, discussion, practice and field trips. Guest lectures by distinguished scholars will be arranged to enrich students’ knowledge about specific risk topics. 

課程目標
The goal of this course is to establish a solid foundation for graduate students to have a first step in learning occupational health. Students will learn core principles, key methods and important issues related to environmental and occupational health. On-hand practice will be emphasized to let students have a real-world appreciation of the business of occupational health. Students will be able to extend their learning track to more advanced courses in occupational health after taking this course. 
課程要求
Students have to attend all 2-hour lectures and 1-hour tutor sessions each week except pre-arranged field trips. Students have to complete assigned readings before class in order to actively participate in class and tutor discussion. Students have to write eight one-page short essays including four Chinese and four English in A4 paper. Each student is required to give comments on the essay by each of their classmates once per semester.
